The Bearded Man
The Bearded Men. The Beard depicts coming of age, wisdom, trustworthiness and strength. This shoot was themed round the idea of taking the current trend of beards and facial hair and styling it in ways that were fashionable over the ages, but with a modern twist. From the patterns created in hair lines by Hip Hop artists to the Elizabethan extravagance of extensions and carefully coiffured and waxed moustaches. Thank you to Colleen van Rensburg for styling and coiffuring. To Michael, Todd, Tobias, Russ, Brandon and Tremayne for their patience and willingness to grow beards!
I recall my grandfather telling me that the first traffic officer in Johannesburg rode a bicycle and had a handle-bar mustache that could be seen when looking at him from behind!
